The way expressions for Opus variables can be defined has been greatly
enhanced by providing a little language for writing Opus variables. In
many cases, this enhancement will avoid the need to declare a new variable
at all - you can just write an expression. Sections 6.3 and 7.4 of the
manual (Opus Variables) describe the new system.
The current nightly build now has this facility. References to variable
names should continue to work without change, but any expressions or
aliases will need to be updated. The release notes
(http://www.urbansim.org/opus/opus_manual/docs/release_notes.html) give
information on how to update.
Please contact us if you need any help converting existing specifications -
we'd be happy to help with this.
And as usual, if you want to avoid dealing with this upgrade for now, you
can continue using one of the stable releases.
