Hi,
I cant seem to find
very much information about handling multiple level parcels of data. I did
find a PowerPoint presentation from May 2002 stating it was being
considered. Logic tells me to simply collate the parcels together into the
cell.
I am assuming that
the lack of a "built_form" or "no_levels" value for the parcel
table means that the development model uses the "built_sqft" that in this
case would be greater than the "parcel_sqft" to suggest that knocking down 10
floors of apartments is less likely than a single level
house.
Dunn and Bradstreet
are charging an arm and a leg for the Employment records. I am therefore
considering using the "Journey to Work data" from the census (i.e. no of
employees by industry by SIC/ANZSIC per Transit Zone region) and
allocating users to commercial and industrial land based on small area survey
ratios. Has anyone ever been forced to do this? In Australia we
don't have insurance records due to differences in the Social Security
System.
I do not expect to
get the same quality of results as an Address level match to parcel. I can
obtain business records for businesses with a turnover of over 4 million at a
reasonable price. I could then locate a percentage of the workers in the
transport zone to parcels and allocate the rest to unused commercial/industrial
zoned land?
Any tips or
suggestions from experienced (or otherwise) users would be
appreciated.
(By the way the new
OPUS/UrbanSim 4 reference manual and user guide is
excellent)
