Model System Outputs
What outputs does the model system produce, and what Indicators should be developed from these outputs for evaluation purposes? Below is a preliminary set to begin the process. Please add and edit as needed.
Land Use Outputs (UrbanSim)
- Same as model inputs, but updated by simulation: households, persons, parcels, buildings, jobs, workplaces
Activity-based Travel Demand (AMOS)
- Activity patterns for each person and household in the data, including activity schedule (to a minute), modes, destinations
- Vehicle and person trips (individual, micro-level)
Dynamic Traffic Assignment (MALTA)
- Skims of shortest paths and associated times
- Vehicle routing and travel time experienced during simulation
Indicators Generated from Model Outputs
Land Use
- Densities of development at varying levels of aggregation (traffic zone, city, district, etc)
- Types of land uses and mixtures within different location types (e.g. Transit Oriented Development)
- Profiles of household types by area (poverty concentration, other forms of clustering by life cycle, social characteristics)
- Employment patterns (clustering by industry and location)
- Accessibility measures: fraction of persons or households by type within walking distance of transit; average travel time to work or other activity, measures of transportation options available to persons in different locations
Travel
- Level of service by facility and time of day
- Mode shares
- Transit trips by route and time of day
- Vehicle miles traveled
- Person jours of congestion delay
- Generalized costs of travel
- Emissions
